The Uyuni salt flat in southwestern Bolivia rises to 3,700 meters above sea level and was once the largest salt lake in the world. During the rainy season, the layer of salt, sometimes more than 15 meters thick, can be covered with up to one meter of water and then becomes one of the largest natural mirrors in the world. This is why salt is also called Mirror Salt. The Uyuni Salt Desert is one of the most fascinating regions on the planet, with brilliant brightness during the day, very cold nights and unforgettable sunrises and sunsets. At the edge of the salt desert, there is a unique hotel, built entirely from Uyuni salt. Our Mirror Salt comes directly from the Uyuni salt desert and is mined by hand. This table salt is soft and simply dried and sifted to a uniform grain size.
